Bringing Place to Life Through Botanical Illustration
To create a strong sense of identity for Arbor Residences in Rochedale, AV Jennings required artwork that would connect future residents to the history and character of the land.
Drawing inspiration from the site’s history as a citrus orchard, I created a bespoke botanical illustration of oranges and blossoms arching over an arbor — designed to evoke a feeling of welcome, growth, and belonging.
The artwork was applied across key marketing touchpoints, from printed brochures to large-scale mural installations, creating a cohesive and memorable visual story for the development.

Project Overview
Arbor Residences is a new residential development by AV Jennings, located in Rochedale, Queensland.
To support the marketing of the estate, a bespoke illustration was commissioned to create a strong and memorable visual identity—one that would connect future residents to the character and history of the site.
Inspired by the land’s past as a citrus orchard, the artwork was designed for use across key marketing materials, including printed brochures and a large-scale mural installation within the development.
The Story Behind The Artwork
The Arbor Residences site was once home to thriving citrus orchards, forming part of the area’s agricultural history. This became the foundation for the illustration.
Delicate oranges and blossoms were chosen as the central motif, referencing the land’s past while bringing a sense of warmth, growth, and seasonal beauty to the development’s identity.
The arching arbor form reflects ideas of entry and transition—welcoming future residents into a new chapter, while subtly grounding the project in its local story.

Concept and Illustration Approach
The illustration was developed to balance narrative and restraint — capturing the essence of the site without overwhelming the broader brand.
Fine, hand-drawn linework was used to create a sense of delicacy and refinement, while the composition was carefully considered to frame content and guide the viewer’s eye.
The arching structure creates a natural sense of movement and invitation, allowing the artwork to function both as a standalone visual and as a supporting element within layouts.
Designed forPrint and Scale
The artwork was created as a vector illustration, enabling it to be reproduced across a wide range of formats without loss of detail.
Originally prepared at A3 size for print, the illustration was later scaled up for large-format applications, including a mural installation within the sales office.
This approach ensured consistency across all touchpoints — maintaining clarity, precision, and visual impact from brochure to built environment.
