Sydney Office Mural

Location: 206 / 166 Glebe Point Road, Glebe NSW

This stunning Sydney mural does much more than transform a blank wall in an office (which in itself is a huge achievement as most offices are lacking soul beyond a standard fitout) - it connects people and place, sparking joy and conversation.

Featuring hand drawn streets and hand painted waterways, this wallpaper mural showcases the inner west suburbs of Sydney, helping my client George to connect him with his clients and community.

George Antoniou, Boutique Residential

"Thank you Kylie for making our office look amazing. Our large scale art work is the talk of the building, we are so glad we decided to do this. We highly recommend Kylie and the team if you're after some WOW factor in your office"

This is my second mural for George and his real estate business, Boutique Residential. George fell in love with my "I Left My Heart in Sydney" artwork back in 2017 and commissioned a mural for his first office. When he moved offices in 2024, we had the chance to work together again on this beautiful second iteration.

Located in Glebe's heritage-listed 'Valhalla' building, the Sydney map mural celebrates the spirit of place for George's real estate company, Boutique Residential, showcasing the inner west Sydney area and community it serves. George's buyers and renters, along with other Valhalla business owners and staff within the building, take great joy in searching for the streets they call home.

Stretching an impressive 7 meters in width and 2.5 meters in height, this mural is the largest map mural I have completed to date. It's also the largest watercolour mural I have ever created. With meticulous attention to detail, my hand-drawn city map of Sydney comes to life against a beautiful hand painted watercolour backdrop. The streets and waterways are first drawn in vector linework in Adobe Illustrator, and then merged with a high resolution scan of my watercolour (originally painted at a much smaller A3 size). It can take me up to 40 hours to draw my city maps and many more hours to incorporate watercolour painting and setup files for printing.

The colour palette complements the existing warm timber flooring and floor-to-ceiling bronze mirrors. The use of swirling watercolour brings life and movement to the artwork while reinforcing brand identity through colour. A burst of vivid orange tones bring energy to the entry way, integrating the orange of George's logo and branding on the wall adjacent.  The vibrant greens were chosen to evoke an uplifting, calming feeling. They also give a nod to the green Valhalla facade and connect the inside to the outdoors, with lush green trees and palms visible through the office window.

The mural has completely transformed the space, infusing it with warmth, personality, a sense of wonder and ultimately the important connection between people and place. From beginning to end, this project was a wonderful collaboration between me and George to create something special for many days spent in the office.

It was a delight to create this bespoke wallpaper mural for George and his business. I loved working with such a fun, energetic and innovative business owner who actively participated in the design process and trusted me to bring it to life.
