Dental Clinic Mural for Pure Dentistry
Tiny Giraffe helped the Pure Dentistry to transform their clinic with a bespoke wallpaper mural. The mural creates a calming environment to ease patient's anxiety, enhances placemaking within the shopping precinct and provides awareness around the clinic's specialty services in sleep dentistry.

Dental Clinic Mural Strategy
My client Ian is the owner of Pure Dentistry. At our very first meeting over a coffee, I knew it would be a treat to work with him. He loved my art style and had fabulous ideas about design possibilities for the clinic. He has great taste in art, design and interiors.
Ian's idea for a mural presented when centre management asked that a blank wall in the dental clinic provide some kind of signage to activate the facade of the shopping centre. The existing wall is a beautiful curved feature wall in reception that faces pedestrian movment and adjacent car park.
Ian saw this as a great opportunity to achieve three things:

Enhance the business' interior and activate the building facade

Create awareness of the clinic's specialty services in sleep dentistry.

Help put clients at ease in the reception waiting room with a peaceful, relaxing mural.
Together we worked together to achieve all three.
Colour Palette Inspiration
I took colour inspiration from my first visit, taking photos of the furniture, flooring, acoustic wall panels and wall sculptures.
Pure Dentistry is one of the most impressive dentist clinics I've visited, with a stunning fitout completed by Elite Fitout. The mix of greys, blues and natural timbers (as well as the Pure Dentistry branding and logo) gave me a beautiful palette to work with.
I knew I wanted to incorporate colourful pops of bright turquoise (the Pure Dentisty branding and logo colour) into the mural, while keeping the calm, relaxed atmosphere of the clinic.

Mural Development and Installation
I presented 3 concept designs options to Ian for consideration, each one exploring different elements of 'sleep' – moon, clouds, stars and teeth.
Ian chose his favourite concept, and from there I created the artwork. I painted a dream-like watercolour background and merged it with my hand drawn digital art elements. While the original mural concept was strong, Ian's idea to add additional yet minimal text brought further clarity and awareness to the clinic's services and further meaning to the mural.
The wallpaper was expertly installed, hung in 3 individual wallpaper panels and seamlessly joined to create the overall mural. The mural grabs people's attention and attracts them into the clinic. Mission accomplished!
