This is a hand drawn artwork by me - Australian artist Kylie Harber. I draw every road and river by hand, on my ipad, to create a beautiful modern city map. All of my city map prints in the {I left my heart} collection take between 25 - 60 hours from concept to completion. I print my digital artworks on to thick cotton paper that is heat pressed with gold foil.

This means your artwork is hand drawn and hand crafted but unfortunately means we do not accept returns. If your artwork is damaged in transit, please contact me within 7 days for a refund/replacement.

  • Ah, Paris! The city of lights. And love. And croissants.

     

    Wandering the cobblestones laneways is equally as fun as strolling the grand boulevards, hopping between galleries and museums, soaking up the culture and architecture with every step. I loved watching the locals sit by the River Seine - chatting, eating and drinking merrily. Parisians know how to live well!

     

    I visited in 2007 and dream of the day I'll go again. After all, I only got to explore Versailles palace and not it's gardens - and I am eternally sad about it. Until then I deam of Paris.

MY STORY

My name is Kylie and I leave my heart in all the cities and places I travel to.

So I draw them, print them and hang them on my wall, to remember the best moments of my life.

I have permanently itchy feet. If you experience this too, you know how important it is to always be planning the next adventure!

 

My very first overseas trip was to Thailand, Burma and Laos in 2005, at the age of 21. Then a 5 week trip to Europe in 2007.

In 2010, I travelled to the USA for the first time. I spent a week in San Francisco and felt like my soul was 'home'. When I returned home to Brisbane, I started hunting for the perfect art print of the city I missed so desperately. I couldn't find what I was looking for, so I decided to create my own.

 

It took me around 25-30 hours to draw all the streets. I carefully traced screenshots of google maps in Adobe Illustrator, playing with line weights, colours and positioning of the text. I printed it on fine art paper in vibrant yellow (the colour I associated with San Fran), and had it professionally framed. 

 

I haven't stopped drawing line art ever since!
