I've heard it many times, especially from interior designers who are used to waiting up to 12 weeks for suppliers to ship their products. It's a fair assumption, but it's unfounded.
As a Brisbane based wallpaper designer and mural artist specialising in bespoke, tailored wall art solutions for homes and businesses, I know what's possible and work to tight deadlines where needed for my hospitality and commercial fitout projects.
I pride myself on offering a turnkey solution handing everything from idea to installation. This allows my clients to focus on one thing: considering what they would like and enjoying the personalisation process I lead them through with concept design and art creation. How Long Does Bespoke, Custom Designed Wallpaper Take to Create?
Most of my bespoke wallpaper projects are completed within 4 to 6 weeks, depending on the number of walls and design complexity (some of my hand-drawn and hand-painted city map wallpaper murals can take a month to create if the city area is large or detailed).
Typically, I just need 1 hour of your time (our initial briefing meeting), and 6 weeks to make beautiful, custom designed wallpaper MAGIC.

Each project is different, based on the project size and art complexity, but here is the timeline associated:
Briefing Meeting - 1 hour
Concept Design - 1 week
Artwork Creation - 2 to 3 weeks
File Setup - 1 to 2 days
Wallpaper Printing - 2 weeks (or 2 days for rush fee) plus a few days for shipping
Wallpaper Installation - Half day for standard walls, up to 3 days for multi-wall sites
What Is Required of You For Custom Wallpaper
The most work you'll put into this process of creating a custom wallpaper is the 1 hour conversation we'll have at the start of your project.
I love to learn about you, so I can create something special that aligns with who you are, your story, your brand story (if it is for your business) and your lifestyle (plus your interiors!). I have a series of questions that I will take you through to get an understanding of how I can help you best.

From initial consultation and briefing, to design, printing and installation, I take care of everything so you don't have to. And it's much quicker than you may have wondered!
For those who need an urgent turnaround on printing, I offer printing that ships within 2 days for rush fee. I work with an incredible, dedicated Australian wallpaper printer to deliver beautiful, premium, matte, non-woven wallpaper.
Wallpaper Companies Are Not Equal
There are literally OODLES of wallpaper printing companies out there, and many of them promise to deliver custom wallpaper.
The term 'custom wallpaper' can be misleading, as it could refer to custom printing or custom design.
At Tiny Giraffe, I specialise in both custom designed wallpaper and I offer boutique printing of your personalised design at high resolution, tailored to your wall sizes.
Where some companies offer custom printing, often they are simply changing the colours or scale of an existing design on their website — a design they have licensed that many other companies have access to. There is no guarantee that these licensed artworks can be modified to your walls at high resolution and this can result in pixelated or blurry imagery.
Some printing companies have in-house graphic designers but not artists or illustrators, who can provide a variety of art styles.
